Sallie Taylor

Sallie Taylor is a longtime advocate for school choice with extensive experience in public service and government. She began her federal career at the U.S. Department of Labor, where she was assigned to the Mine Safety and Health Administration and focused primarily on workers’ compensation issues affecting miners and their families.  Taylor later spent 18 years serving in various staff and senior-level roles for Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, MD-6, working both in the district and on Capitol Hill. Her work included constituent services, policy support, and legislative research.  During the COVID-19 legislative sessions of 2020 and 2021, Taylor served as Chief of Staff to Maryland Delegate Dan Cox, helping manage legislative priorities and constituent service during a challenging and unprecedented time.  
  
In addition to her professional work, Taylor is the mother of two adult daughters. Throughout their schooling, she gained firsthand experience with a variety of educational models, including homeschooling, specialized private education for students with dyslexia, public school, and Christian school. This diverse personal experience has deepened her longstanding commitment to expanding educational opportunities for families.
