Carroll Classical Charter School to Host Information Sessions for Prospective Families

Carroll County, MD — Carroll Classical Charter School (CCCS), an initiative of Carroll Learning Alliance, will hold two upcoming information sessions for families interested in learning about the school’s classical education model and plans for its launch. The sessions will be located at Carroll County Public Library in Eldersburg and take place on:

  • Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM

These sessions aim to introduce parents and students to the charter school concept, the principles of classical education, and the timeline for the school’s opening. Both events will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and engage directly with the Carroll Learning Alliance team.

About Carroll Classical Charter School
Set to open in Carroll County, CCCS will serve students from kindergarten through fifth grade initially, with plans to expand to grades six through eight in subsequent years. The school will offer a classical education rooted in the proven Trivium model, emphasizing grammar, logic, and rhetoric to foster critical thinking, effective communication, and a love of learning.

Inspired by the success of Frederick Classical Charter School—ranked #1 elementary and #2 middle school charter in Maryland by U.S. News & World Report—CCCS is committed to providing a rigorous academic environment. The school will feature small class sizes, with two 20-student classes per grade, and a focus on developing foundational knowledge, character, and self-expression.

Why Attend an Information Session?
These sessions are designed to provide families with a comprehensive overview of CCCS, including:

  • What is a charter school? Learn how charter schools operate, their governance, and how they differ from traditional public schools.
  • What is classical education? Discover the timeless educational approach that focuses on cultivating wisdom, virtue, and academic excellence.
  • Timetable for launch: Get an update on the school’s progress, including application timelines, projected opening dates, and enrollment plans.

CCCS aims to open its doors in the Sykesville/Eldersburg area, offering families a high-quality educational alternative while helping to address overcrowding in local schools.
